Good News!

icon So, I finally went back to the ear specialist doctor and I have great news! I don’t need surgery on my ear! :D The fluid is just taking a while to fully drain, so I have to continue to take all of these medicines and use these ear drops that I don’t like. However, as long as all this works, I’ll do it! The idea of surgery scares the hell outta me! T_T So I’m so glad that I don’t need surgery!

All that being said though, I do have to go back to the ear doctor on May 7th. He needs to do a final check to make sure all of the fluid has drained and the perforated ear drum is completely healed up. The bad news in all this is though that because of all the problems and how long it all lasted and because of how bad everything was, I may have some hearing loss. For me, I definitely feel like my hearing has changed. -^- And I don’t mean for the better. I’m not that upset about it though. I mean, I already had some hearing problems anyway. I already needed a hearing test done. So when I go back to the doctor on the 7th, I’ll also be having a hearing test done.

I’ll likely need a hearing aid. My insurance covers that, though I’m not sure if it covers a hearing aid completely or just partially. I’ll have to see should I actually need the hearing aid. That being said, I’ve been told that I needed a hearing aid before and my hearing has really become a problem for me in the past few years. So I guess I don’t really mind if I need one. I can live with that. ^-^

It would be nice to be able to get a hearing aid actually. Then I won’t have to say ‘huh?’ all of the freaking time. I hate doing that! >.< And I do that a lot! So it would be really nice to finally be able to hear well again. It would just be some amazing not to feel confused or left out of a conversation because I can’t hear what they’re saying. So getting a hearing aid, I really wouldn’t mind. In fact, in a way, I’m actually kind of looking forward to it. :)

My ex-friend’s cousin had her hearing aid in pink. I think it would be kind of cool to get it in a colour. I mean, I don’t know if I’d get mine in pink, but if I have to have a hearing aid, I’d much rather get it in a colour instead of plain or something. People say you can’t see hearing aids, but I disagree. I can always see them and people would definitely be able to see mine should I get one. Since my hair is always tucked behind my ears and my hair pulled back.

From what I’ve been told and looked up, hearing aids come in a ton of different colours and styles. The colours depend on what style you get, of course. Some go deep into the ear canal and others are kind of like ear buds. I don’t think I’d like the ones that go too deep in the ear canal, especially since I seem to have a problem with fluid building up in my ears. I’ve been told that I need to be careful from now on with fluid building up again. So I guess I’d likely go with the ear bud style or something for the hearing aid.

I guess I’m kind of getting ahead of myself now, huh? Lol I’m talking about hearing aids as if I’ve already been told I’m getting one. :D Lol. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I would love to be told that my hearing is perfect, but I know that it’s not. It hasn’t been perfect in years and after all these recent problems with my ears, I know it’s gotten worse. At least hearing aids aren’t scary or anything. Surgery is scary! O.O!! Hearing aids are not. ^-^

Anyway, I guess we’ll see on the 7th and I’ll let you all know! :)
